Tenuta di Salviano "Castello di Titignano" Sauvignon Blanc Umbria IGT 750ml

Vintage: 2022
Winery: Tenuta di Salviano
Description: Both very old and extremely new, Tenuta di Salviano is the latest venture at the Castello di Titignano property in Umbria. Owned since 1650 by the Corsini family, the vineyards surrounding Castello di Titignano, which was built in 937, have been making fine wine for millennia. In the 20th century, the Titignano property passed into the hands of the Incisa della Rocchetta family, when Donna Nerina Corsini married Marchese Enrico Incisa della Roccetta, the family responsible for the creation of Sassicaia at Tenuta San Guido, their estate in Bolgheri. In 2015, Titignano passed to Priscilla and Giovanni Incisa della Rocchetta, the children of Nerina and Enrico; five years later, following the death of Priscilla, Giovanni decided to honor his sister's memory with the creation of Tenuta di Salviano, a special winemaking entity dedicated to crafting fine Umbrian wines. Spanning 173 acres on the southern side of Corbara Lake in the heart of the Orvieto Classico wine region, Salviano sports soils rich in limestone and fossils and grows a combination of indigenous and international grape varietals.
