| Description: | James Suckling Review. Rated 94. Very dense blackberry and forest-berry nose, but somehow it manages to be delicate too, black-tea and licorice notes developing with aeration. Concentrated and plush, the tannins are really fine for this often hard-edged grape variety, gently leading you into the warm and supple crescendo finish. Drink or hold. Wine Tasting Notes. Deep ruby to garnet red with a delicate shimmer of violet. The aroma reveals earthy, minerally notes masterfully underpinned with fruit components, with morello cherry, dark chocolate and plum jam dominating. These spicy and yet velvety fruit notes also intrigue the palate, where this Lagrein Riserva presents itself with multilayered opulence and great complexity. |
