| Description: | We featured a Vinho Verde from this winery as Wine of the Month last year and not only was it one of our most successful, it continues to see incredible sales months later. Portal Da Calcada is producing, no, over producing in terms of quality, wines that offer so much absolute delight and for so few dollars. Guess we should not have been shocked when we tasted this Rose and then heard the price. Wow. Made from a local variety called Vinhao and aged in stainless steel, this is a Rose that is all about freshness. So full of energy it is nearly spritzy. Peaches, salted grapefruit and a pop of minerals. Almost too easy to glug but thankfully it is priced so that opening that second, or third bottle doesn't hurt. |
