It presents challenges in harvesting and handling due to its distinctive structure and the dense core within the stem. This agave boasts a bouquet brimming with tropical fruit notes and a dry, pine and mineral finish. Agave is wildly grown on the steep hillsides of Oaxaca, Guerrero, and Durango, and is highly coveted by local mezcaleros. Extracted from the heart of the maguey, these varietals create intense flavors with earthy tones and smoky notes.
