Description: | James Suckling 93 Points - "Blackcurrants and black olives here, together with a hint of tobacco and sandalwood. Powerful tannins, but the texture is so chalky and polished. Very resolved and elegant style with some currants and dried herbs in the finish. Drink now.". The Zuccardi Q Cabernet Sauvignon is simply a fantastic wine at a great price. This Cabernet from Argentina has the delicious full-bodied flavors we expect from the king of grapes, wrapped up in a silky smooth package. There is great intensity with ripe red and black fruit notes, which are very pleasing on the palate. The quality to price ratio is hard to beat with Wine Spectator designating it as a Smart Buy and selecting it as one of its Top 100 wines of the year. We have previously featured Zuccardi wines, which are helping to take Argentine winemaking to the next level of quality and refinement. The grapes used for Zuccardi Q come from recognized micro-climates planted in high altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley. They are manually harvested, fermented using indigenous yeasts and aged in oak for 12 months in first, second and third use French barrels. These are expensive, time-consuming steps normally associated with higher priced wines. Third generation winemaker, Sebastian carries on the family's tradition, continuing to make exceptional wines which are embraced by critics and consumers alike. This value-priced Cabernet from Zuccardi is a great choice for your everyday drinker. A Cabernet Sauvignon of this quality for under $20.00 is a steal. Enjoy!. Deep purple. Intensely aromatic with notes of purple flowers and ripe red and black fruits such as blueberries and currants. The barrel aging adds complexity with notions of baking spice and vanilla. The palate is juicy and displays very good body with silky, ripe tannins. Crme de cassis, blackberries, blueberries and black cherries are augmented by Asian and baking spices. The finish shows great freshness, polish and persistence. |
