Perrier-jouet Grand Brut

Description: Perrier-Jouët's Grand Brut sports a distinctive, new "prestige" profile bottle. The label has also been revamped and features metallic gold anemone petals originally created by art nouveau artist Émile Gallé in 1902. It is a blend of no less than 50 crus-- Grand Brut's assemblage creates a balance between the consistency of the Perrier-Jouët style and the effects of the climate of the year. Grand Brut is dominated by the elegance and finesse of the Chardonnay (20%) from the best vineyards in the Côte des Blancs. The delicate structure is brought by the Pinot Noir (40%) primarily sourced from the Montagne de Reims and the Vallée de la Marne, but also from the best Crus in the Aube region such as Les Riceys. Pinot Meunier (40%) from the Vallée de la Marne brings harmony, fruit and roundness to the wine. This edition is based on the 2019 vintage and was blended with 15% of reserve wines that are up to five years old. It was then aged on the yeast for three years before being disgorged in December 2022 when it was given a user-friendly dosage of eight grams per liter. "Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut is a melting pot of aromas and flavors - a wonderfully rounded, generous Champagne whose joie de vivre makes every moment more special." - Séverine Fresrson, Maison Perrier-Jouët Cellar Master. The origin of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut can be traced back to 1846, when Maison Perrier-Jouët launched its historic Cuvée K, the world's first lightly-dosed Champagne in the style today known as "brut." Cuvée K was finished with less than 5 grams of sugar per liter in an era when Champagnes typically contained 40 grams. This level of dryness was only made possible by the firm's dedication to hands-on viticulture which yielded top-quality grapes requiring very little added sugar - a philosophy maintained to this day. Wine Spectator 92 Points - "Features a rich range of blackberry coulis, lemon curd, toasted brioche and hazelnut flavors defined by well-honed acidity. An elegant Champagne, with a satiny mousse, revealing delicate white blossom and spice notes on the finish. Pinot Noir, Meunier and Chardonnay. Drink now through 2028."
