Description: | 89+ pts Wine Advocate March The 2015 Tamboerskloof Syrah has also been blended with 4% Mourvedre and 1% Viognier. The nose bursts with impressive and defined notes of black pepper, blackberry reduction and a dusty minerality. With softer tannins than the 2016 bottling of the same name, the Tamboerskloof Syrah has an elegance to the mid-palate that will age well and round out in time. Medium-bodied, the wine ends with fine, lingering flavors of bitter dark chocolate and dusty blackberries on the finish. 4 ½ Stars 2019 Platter's South African Wine Guide Lifting whiffs of white pepper & pimento spice in savoury 15 (91 pts); bold blackberry fruit folded into well-knit/judged tannic core. Svelte & suave, with dashes mourvedre & viognier adding dimension, 15% gets 19 months in new oak, rest seasoned wood. |
