Youngberg Hill Cuvee Pinot Noir

Vintage: 2016
Description: Critical Acclaim Wine Spectator - 91 Wine Enthusiast 91 - This jumps up and grabs you by the nose immediately, with bright scents of fresh raspberries and highlights of coffee grounds. A lively wine, with immaculate fruit, the concentrated flavors blend strawberries and raspberries, with supporting acids and just a nice touch of barrel flavors. Baileys dry-farm their 15 acres of Pinot Noir, most of which date back to 1989 across this bucolic property west of McMinnville. The heritage of their Cuvée is an estate blend of Dijon clone 777 off their young Camelot Block, established in 2008, with clone 828 fruit from the cooler Eola-Amity Hills appellation nearby. Aromas of dark raspberry, ripe strawberry and pie cherry come through on the palate in a juicy and balanced fashion. Touches of blueberry, Raisin and violets include a pinch of nutmeg make for long finish. Wayne Bailey and consulting winemaker Robert Brittan design this to be a drink-now Pinot to serve with chicken, turkey, burgers and other light fare.
