| Description: | Napa Valley\r\nWinemaker Notes\r\nOpaque, dark scarlet in the glass. Intense aromas of plum, crushed red fruits and dried oregano developing into more floral and minerality tones of violets and wet slate. On the palate, generous layers of red fruit, ripe plum, brown sugar and blackcurrants sit alongside each other with more savory characteristics of seasoned leather and black tea. Texturally soft with firm tannins which provide structure, this wine shows balance and persistence throughout the palate.\r\nBlend: 76% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon\r\nAbout Swanson\r\nSwanson Vineyards was founded in 1985 by W. Clarke and Elizabeth Swanson and is known for nationally distributing Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Alexis Cabernet Sauvignon \u2013 in addition, Swanson has long been producing limited production, tiny batch wines made from intriguing varietals. Our original wine facility was purchased in 1986, then renovated and expanded in 2000. Since then, we have been offering limited seated tastings in our Salon. The Swanson Vineyards\u2019 Salon was modeled after a Parisian salon of the mid 1800\u2019s, where handfuls of diverse and fascinating callers were graciously entertained with sinful libations. Inspired by old-fashioned ways of elegant living and conversation \u2013 we want each guest to feel as though they are coming to a party held in their honor. |
