| Description: | The Serrett family has deep roots in COrnas dating as far back as 1915. The domaine is relatively new in the region and are farming 3 ha of vines. During most of the 20th century they supplied their grapes to some very famous negociants like Delas, Chapoutier and Jaboulet. It was in 1983 when Gilbert Serrette and the family decided to bottle their own wine. The domaine is under the charge of Nicolas Serrette who follows traditional Rhone winemaking methods like foot treading and hand harvesting. Cuveen Patou is a single vineyard cru from a small Lieu-Dit. The vines planted here are estimated to be 80 years of age. The vineyard is extremely low yielding and the soil structure is made up of decomposed granite and sand-lending it the pure, rustic flavor of Cornas. |
