Bruno Rocca Barbaresco

Description: | This shows the very elegant - even delicate - side to Nebbiolo. Coming from vineyards in the Neive area, its lacy tannins are never aggressive, making this enjoyable now with an hour decant. While they use modern techniques, it is to serve the goal of extracting just enough from the skins to create the pure, finessed style they prefer. They age in small French oak barrels ( barrique ), but with a light tough to the flavors, serving more to round the edges of the wine. The family has vine-growing history in Barbaresco going back to 1834, and has been making their own wine for 3 generations now. Wine Spectator 94 Points - "Packs pretty aromas of rose, raspberry, kirsch and a hint of truffle, confirming the bright fruit flavors on the palate. Reveals accents of hay and mineral, which add depth and detail as this builds to a firm, lingering aftertaste. Shows fine balance and overall elegance. Best from 2024 through 2040. " |
