Camille Saves Carte D'Or Brut Grand Cru NV (750ML)
From Champagne
Description: | 93 Wa / 92 Bh / 91 Vm / 90 Ws. The Nv Brut Grand Cru Carte d'Or is a fat, ripe wine bursting with the warmth and generosity of Bouzy. Medium to full in body, the Brut Grand Cru Carte d'Or impresses for its expansive texture and sheer character. The Brut Grand Cru Carte d'Or is 75% Pinot Noir and 25% Chardonnay, vintages 2005 (60%) and 2004 (40%) from southeast facing vineyards in Bouzy with an average age of 25 years. Dosage was 10 grams per liter. - Antonio Galloni, Wine Advocate. A distinctly yeasty and bright nose reveals moderate maturity in the form of poached pear and apple. There is a lovely sense of vibrancy to the delicious flavors that are supported by a relatively fine mousse on the complex and lingering finale that drinks significantly drier than the stated dosage would suggest. - Allen Meadows, Burghound. (75% pinot noir and 25% chardonnay, all from Bouzy; L9041): Bright yellow. Powerful, toasty aromas of pear, raspberry, flowers and brioche, plus a hint of anise. Rich and fleshy but energetic, offering broad orchard fruit and red berry flavors that are given a refreshingly bitter edge by a citrus pith nuance. Finishes with solid grip and very good persistence, leaving smoky lees and cherry pit notes behind. - Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media. An elegant version boasting fine integration of the bright acidity and lively bead, with flavors of white cherry, crunchy pear, biscuit and lemon curd. Smoke and graphite accents lace the finish. 2,000 cases made. - An, Wine Spectator |
