The bottle made a distinct impression, and its label still graces his guitar case. Named for a pine and wetland area near the distillery that once spanned a quarter million acres of Long Island, this whisky began as a collaboration that has taken on a life of its own. Rather than beginning the process with a 'distillers beer,' they instead produce a fully finished and refined barleywine style beer that could easily be bottled and sold as-is. This yields further depth of flavor and the added complexity and bitterness of the hops used to create a unique whisky. – ABV: 47.5% |
