Marco Porello Roero Arneis Camestri
Arneis
Description: | Porello's first vineyards, planted with Nebbiolo, date back to the 1850s. Back then the wines were sold locally in Piedmont's Roero region. It was during the 1930s that Cesare Porello began to increase the estate's production of wine. His sons, Riccardo and Ettore, increased the planting of vines, concentrating on cultivating vineyards that were suitable to the land. Today, Riccardo's son, Marco is in charge. He has a degree from the Oenological School of Alba (Cuneo) and experience with vineyards in France, Bordeaux and Tuscany. The grapes are all estate grown and production is limited to ensure quality and consistency. The vineyards are planted on steep, eastern facing sandy slopes.
