Most lower end Vinho Verdes on the market are non vintage, this is a great quality vintage Vinho Verde Rosé that guarantees the youth and freshness of the wine, which is crucial to be able to appreciate Vinho Verde characteristics. Touriga Nacional is one of Portugal's most famous grape, especially used to make Port but also red wine. Espadeiro is a typical varietal found in the Minho region of Portugal and it is traditionally used to make Vinho Verde, it is also grown across the boarder in the Spanish region of Galicia where light table wines are produced from it. The grapes are selected from the best Vinho Verde vineyards within the Amarante sub-region. Each grape varietal is picked individually at optimum ripeness so that the finished wine shows the best balance between the richness of the fruit and the natural acidity. Pressed at low temperature, the must is then clarified and fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks at 12 to 14ºCentigrade. The wine is filtered and cold stabilized before bottling. Tasting Notes:. Color:Light strawberry pink. Nose:Bright red berries and currant with floral notes. Palate:It is lively showing notes of fresh-crushed red fruits with cranberry zest and pomegranate. An ideal summer wine, it is refreshing with a thirst quenching effect. Slight fizz on the tip of the tongue.
