Description: | Domaine Laballe, Cotes de Gascogne Rosé "Les Terres Basses", Gascony, France 2018 40% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon Cherry & Currant, Zesty & Fresh, Has A Crisp From the gentle hills of Gascony, this rosé incorporates the varieties that dominate much of the region's red wine production – those most closely associated with Bordeaux to the north: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Filled with flavors of fresh red berries and an unexpected undercurrent that manages to to be reminiscent of Fig Newton, it finds a balance between refreshing and rich. Gascony's famously patio-friendly whites have some pretty & pink competition in this rosé compatriot. Serving Suggestion: Goat cheese, charcuterie, & fresh figs. An halibut. |
