| Description: | Established in 1962, Ridge Vineyards is widely reco gnized as one of California's premier producers. Single vineyard wines such as Lytton Springs, Monte Bello and Geyserville have reached legendary status and are priced accordingly. To offer a more easily attainable example of there craftsmanship, Three Valleys was introduced in 2001. A blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Carignane and Mataro (aka Mourvedre) from as many as ten vineyard sites spread throughout Sonoma, the 2018 vintage is perhaps the best example of this wine we've tasted. Nothing overripe or overblown here, this is a full-bodied red wine with lift and energy. The Zinfandel offers thick purple and blue-toned fruits while the Carignane brings the tangy red cherry and herbal notes. Petite Sirah and Mourvedre drop black fruits and gentle tannins into the equation to keep everything in place. Ready to go right out of the bottle, Three Valleys will make any backyard barbecue a feast to remember. |
