| Description: | 92-95 Pale yellow-green. Musky aromas of lime and fresh herbs complicated by pepper, spices and a sexy suggestion of grilled oak. Wonderfully silky and smooth but quite dry (under a gram per liter of r.s., according to Alexandre Bachelet) and still youthfully tight, offering noteworthy finesse to its mineral, saline and nut oil flavors. This rather politely styled Batard will need at least several years of aging to express its powerful minerality. These vines are located on the Puligny/Chassagne line. The potential alcohol here was 12.2%, which was a bit lower than some of the premier crus. (92-95) |
