Ettore Germano Prapo Barolo
Vintage: | 2019 |
---|---|
Description: | This vineyard area in Serralunga d'Alba is smaller than its close neighbor, Cerretta, with south to southeast exposure, toward the cooling winds from the Alta Langa. Nevertheless, its grapes ripen on the earlier side, making for powerfully-structured Barolos that are darker-toned in aroma and flavor, but that are both more freshly aromatic and austerely-fleshed than its neighbor. Decanter 95 Points - ".The grapes were macerated for 40 days in 2019, and the wine aged in big oak casks for 24 months. Sleek, with leafy lightness to the fore, the nose is poised with sweet violet, cinnamon and the freshness of red currants. The attack is crunchy with crisp acidity, then a grainy texture and a stern finish. This is a very classic example of Barolo from Serralunga. It doesn't come across as over-extracted but still needs more time before drinking." Drink 2024-2045. |
