Heurich Brewing Co. (1872-1956). Maerzen had been advertised in Dc newspapers since 1880. Christian writes proudly in his autobiography From My Life, "The Paris World Exhibition of 1900 awarded its silver medal to Heurich's "Maerzen" and "Senate" beers; Liege in Belgium crowned them in 1905 with a gold medal, and in 1907 Jamestown did likewise with a gold medal."
