Tenuta Sette Ponti Crognolo Toscana IGT 750ml

Vintage: 2022
Winery: Tenuta Sette Ponti
Description: While its first vineyards were planted in 1935, Tenuta Sette Ponti came into its own in 1998 with the inaugural vintage of Crognolo, the estate's original Super-Tuscan release. Setti Ponti, which gets its name from the seven medieval bridges that span the Arno between Arezzo and Florence, may have been growing grapes for generations, but it took the vision of Antonio Moretti Cursari, Italian luxury goods magnate and the estate's winemaker-owner, to start estate-bottling its wines. Spanning 250 acres in Chianti's hills, Sette Ponti sports an ancient and unique Sangiovese clone, as well as limestone-rich clayey soils that nourish both native Tuscan and international grape varietals. Working with French consulting winemaker Gilbert Bouvet, Antonio has worked to create a range of wines, from very traditional Chianti bottlings to award-winning Super Tuscans. Antonio added to his portfolio, purchasing the 115-acre Poggio al Lupo estate in Maremma, and the 250-acre Feudo Maccari estate in Sicily, and his children have joined the family business, ensuring the future of this terrific, organically grown Tuscan estate.
