| Description: | Introduced in 1920 by Dublin-based grocer Mitchell & Son as pat Whiskey, the Spot range of whiskeys is among the few remaining bonded Irish whiskeys in the market and was among those constantly touted by critics and casual drinkers as some of the best whiskeys in the world. Despite this, however, the range was not immune to hard times and by the second half of the 20th century, all but one disappeared from the shelves. That one bottling was Green Spot, the most popular of the range even to this day and while both the Red and Yellow Spot have each made their comeback, they have yet to topple their green brethren from their spot, no pun intended, on the brand's hierarchy. |
