|Description:||A fantastic example of Languedoc value! While wine is produced in many corners of France, the Languedoc produces more wine than any other region of France. The storied Rothschild family of Bordeaux had the good sense to buy an estate here, and now we get to enjoy the fruits of their labor! This wine is a blend of traditional Languedoc varietals like Syrah and Marselan, as well as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Bordeaux varietals that the Rothschild family has plenty of experience with. The nose is inviting, with notes of blackberry, licorice, clove and hint of fine leather. The wine is dark, round and brooding on the palate, with black fruit framed with herbes de Provence. The finish has a slight salinity reminiscent of Rothschild's native Bordeaux, as well as an herbal note more commonly found in the Languedoc. The best of both worlds!|
