The southwest exposure of Giacosa's plots at moderate altitude and the classic Serralunga soils with calcareous sand lead to a powerful tannic structure. The distinction in Bruno Giacosa's wines are in the lightly polished take : through moderately extracted tannins (~25 days in stainless steel) and 30 months aging in large casks of French oak, the texture from the skins is rendered more velvet.
