Description: | Pair with grilled or candied red meat, ripened cheeses. 91-94 Jasper Morris. "100% whole bunch. Deep purple offering a richer nose with some very dark strawberry notes a little bit of pepper behind the stems keep it fresh when otherwise could have been jammy. Attractive wine picked a little earlier in the range than in 2018 aiming for optimal ripeness this year.". Domaine Heitz-Lochardet started in 1857 with the Nie-Vantey family, owners of many vineyards from Santenay to Clos de Vougeot. Post-phylloxera, many of the vineyards were sold, but the best Cote de Beaune vineyards were kept in the family by Georges Lochardet. Two generations later, Brigitte Lochardet married Christian Heitz and her share of the family vineyards, 5ha, became Heitz-Lochardet, which Brigitte organically farmed. |
