The Errasti family has been growing grapes for over 40 years and founded the winery in 1989. Located near the coast on rolling hillsides about 90 meters above sea level, the vineyards are planted with the two main grapes of the Basque region, Hondarribi Zuri (white) and Hondarribi Beltza (red). All work in the vineyard is performed by hand. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks, and bottled with a small amount of CO2 remaining lending efferfescense to the finished wine. Aromas and flavors are citrusy - lemon, lime. It is light in body with very sharp acidity and a salty, minerality and a touch of sparkle. Do like the Basques do and pair with oily fish like roasted sardines, firm white fish, shellfish. |
