Description: | Winemaker Notes\r\n\r\nAttractive ruby red, deep and intense. Elegant nose with ripe black fruit, nuts and aromatic herbs, with hints of black licorice, spices and mineral notes of chalk and slate. The palate is fragrant, fresh and elegant, with ripe black fruit, sweet spices and mineral notes. Medium intensity, with fine tannin and long and intense final.\r\nJames Suckling 90 Points\r\nAbout Ysios\r\nThe bodega is located in the Carravacas estate (Laguardia) right in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa.\r\nThe bodega farms a total cultivated area of vineyards that is over 123 acres of Tempranillo with an average age of 25 to 30 years. These vineyards are divided into 12 lots that are harvested by hand and the grapes are vinified separately so that each lot can express all of its unique character.\r\nTHE WINEMAKER\r\nDiego Pinilla, joined Ysios when it was still at the drawing board stage. He has been involved from the outset in the design of the cellar building and the conception of the wine. This will be his fourth vintage at Ysios.\u00a0\ |
