Playtime is a wine of great substance from the acclaimed growing area of Lake County, California. The label is a tribute to the pin-up stars that were prevalent during World War Ii and adorned various military aircraft as they flew into battle. These pin-ups were an inspiration to enjoy life fully and return home safely to their loved ones. Tasting Notes. Deep garnet and ruby jewel tones. Aroma of fresh dark cherries, raspberry, and strawberry; a touch of sweet oak and vanilla; dark spices and a hint of black pepper. A soft, silky entry with sweet red fruits, spice and mineral notes; good mouth feel and a long ripe fruit finish. Technical Data. Alcohol: 14.2%. Total Acidity: 0.59. pH: 3.79. Residual Sugar: 1.35. Composition/Blend: 61% Zinfandel, 20% Grenache, 11% Petite Verdot, 8% Barbera. Appellation: Lake County. Cases Produced: 1,250 Region Description. Lake County is one of the smaller inland wine regions in California. Surrounded to the west by Mendocino and Sonoma Counties, and to the south by Napa Valley, Lake County's small concentration of vineyards lie in the Clear Lake Ava. The vineyard's here are nestled between steep hills to the west the lake shore. Main varieties grown in this area are Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel. |
