| Description: | This comes from a special planting of old, own-rooted vines known as the "Old Shop Block" in Hellenthal Vineyard, located at 1300ft elevation just east of Hirsch Vineyards. Ceritas is the only winery using fruit from this plot, which consists of a mix of fractured and decomposed sandstone soils. The fruit is hand-harvested and fermented with 60% whole clusters and aged in French oak barrels (25% new) for one year, before being consolidated to used barrels for another 3-6 months. While our tiny allocation has not afforded us a chance to taste this age-worthy Pinot, the 2022 vintage in Sonoma produced some great wines and seems to have favored Pinot Noir at least in these early stages of tasting.
