Scorpion Mezcal Reposado
| Description: | Scorpion Reposado is an award winning mezcal that is artisan-made in Oaxaca. A real scorpion rests at the bottom of every bottle. Their Reposado and Anejo offerings are aged in French Oak. Scorpion has been available in the Us since 1996, which dates back to around the same time that Del Maguey began importing to the Us as well. Their slogan is "Worms are for wimps" as each bottle has a scorpion at the bottom. Scorpion is made by distiller Doug French, who learned the trade from 3rd generation mezcalero Don Lupe. Doug also runs the Master Mezcalier program that is held in various cities across the Us. Scorpion Reposado is made with agave Espadin. It has golden aromas of lanolin and honey. A soft round entry leads to a dry light-to-medium-body with honey, grassy herbs, flax, caramel, salt, light spice. It finishes dryly with a honeyed oak barrel nose. |
