| Description: | Though Italy may not be known for Pinot Noir, there's a high-elevation pocket of plantings in Alto Adige that ripens its grapes to cool-climate perfection. They're the key to this wine, which spends 18 months in a rotation of concrete, stainless steel tanks, barriques and large barrels. Together, these conditions preserve a funk of mushroom, wet leaf, black cherry and roasted red meat characteristics alongside subtle notes of herbs. The wine is barely green, yet the palate is silky smooth. |
