| Description: | Description: Located in the heart of the Cote-Rotie vineyards near the village of Ampuis, Domaine Jean-Michel Gerin owns 30 acres of vineyards. The beauty is what he doesn't use for his ultra-premium Cote-Rotie he uses for a complex Vin de France. The soil is mostly Schiste and granite which makes some of the best, age-worthy Syrah's on the planet. This is a classic, Rhone valley Syrah with lots of minerality, red fruits, and supple tannins. Medium-bodied with a touch of umami with a long finish. Food pairings: Braised, grilled, or stewed meats, duck, game, lamb, rabbit, bacon, venison, brie, oxtails, hamburgers, mushrooms, charcuterie, camembert, epoisses, etc. |
