| Description: | Lumen Escence is the first orange wine ever produced by Lumen. They picked their favorite Pinot Gris at Sierra Madre Vineyard a few weeks early, which means it had low sugars and high acidity, then fermented on the skins for a full 12 days. This vineyard is SIP Certified Sustainably Farmed. Quite possibly the perfect peach/pink hue; call it Rose, Ramato, Orange Wine or skin contact Pinot Gris. The nose if redolent of ripe Grapefruit, passionfruit, lemon compote, pear blossom, blanched hazelnut, persimmon. On the palate, Lemon curd, mango basil, a rounder Escence showing the warmth of the vintage. |
