The flavors are specific to this region with savory hints of leather, gun powder and a classic pepperiness. Vineyard-wise, they're special too, being among the only Cabernet vineyards regularly planted on their own rootstock (most of the world's are grafted on American rootstock to protect the vine from the root louse phyloxera vastatrix which is not found in Chile.)
