Jean Noel Gagnard Chassagne Montrachet les Chaumees 1er Cru (750ML)
From Chassagne-Montrachet
Vintage: | 2019 |

Description: | 92 De / 91 Jm / 91 Vm. From a 0.59ha parcel in a well-exposed location, high on the slope in very thin soils. The fruit ripens well here and the wine shows a ripe, exotic note on the nose, while the palate has a dense, rich texture, but the wine never loses sight of its balance. Lovely length and great potential for ageing.--Charles Curtis Mw, Decanter. This wine is made from 75% in the main part of Caillerets and 25% in Les Combards, not yet assembled but blended in the glass for me. A light yellow colour with huge energy on the nose, a wine which is resisting the blandishments of the sun. This will need extra time in barrel according to Caroline. Notwithstanding their Bâtard-Montrachet, this is often the great wine in the Jean-Noël Gagnard cellar. There is a touch of youthful bitterness at the finish but will be spectacular.
