Fenocchio Bussia Riserva Barolo 90 Di
Vintage: | 2013 |

Description: | "This is the top-shelf wine from Giacomo Fenocchio. The 2013 Barolo Riserva Bussia 90 d delivers a sultry and rich bouquet. Aromas of dark fruit and dried cherry are folded into spice, tobacco and tarry earth. Like the other expressions from this producer, this Barolo veers toward black fruit (as opposed to red fruit energy) with a concentrated and heavy impression on the palate." - Monica Larner, Wine Advocate. Winery Notes - "Traditional method: natural fermentation without added yeasts in stainless steel tanks. Ancient technique of submerging the cap for 90 days. This process allows for an elegant transfer of the wine as it retains some of the noble elements found in the skins. Ageing: Six months in stainless steel tanks, four years in large capacity Slavonian oak casks (35-50 hl) and a successive refinement in the bottle. Tasting Notes: The color is a deep garnet red with orange reflections. Intense scents typical of Nebbiolo: rose, truffles, leather. The palate shows hints of black cherry, truffles, spices and notes of aromatic herbs. Texture is subtle with velvety tannins with a remarkable depth and complexity. Persistence is pleasantly long. Food Pairing: Rich dishes with red meat, game and aged cheeses, especially Piedmontese style." |
