| Description: | Counoise is usually included in blends in the southern Rhône for its spicy aromas, but there are a small number of producers making single-varietal wines here in California. From Mendocino County, this is perhaps our favorite of the ones we've had: intense, concentrated aromas of raspberry, red cherry, game, pepper, licorice, and vanilla, with high, vibrant acidity, a good tannic grip, and a lingering spicy finish. |
