| Description: | "Nestled in the heart of Carneros, Catarina was the second ranch to become part of the Sangiacomo familys estate. Rich with history, agriculture on the property dates back to the 1800s when the land was planted to prune trees and hay for the local dairy farms. When Vittorio Sangiacomo purchased Catarina in 1952, it provided him the opportunity to expand the family business with his four children. In 1958, the family planted pear trees, yielding 85-acres of orchards which they supplied to canneries until the time vineyards were planted in 1982. A farmers dream, this vineyard features generous terroir with silty loam soils and ideal sunshine, producing a glamorous, full-bodied Chardonnay.".
