| Description: | Château D'Arcie has built a reputation as a high quality estate in the Saint Émilion appellation of Bordeaux. The vines are tended with respect for the environment from their estate vineyard of 31 acres of clay and sandy soils, planted to Merlot and Cabernet Franc with old vines averaging 40 years of age. They have a gravity flow winery which allows gentle handling of the fruit. 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc aged in French oak barrels, 40% new for 12 months. Lovely red fruits, plums & cherries, violets and vanilla abound along with silky tannins and a long, juicy finish. Clay-limestone soils with Sandy floors Merlot 80 % and Cabernet Franc 20 % Average Age of Vines 40 years Aging in barrel, 30% new Only 1275 cases made per harvest Sustainable and Organic farming with Environmental Cerifications from Agriconfiance and Système de Management Environnemental - ISO 14001. |
