Remy Pannier Muscadet de Sevre et Maine

Melon de Bourgogne

Vintage: 2019
Description: The source of Muscadet is the "Sèvre-et-Maine" area, planted with over 25,000 acres of vines. Muscadet comes from the far western area at the mouth of the Loire River, south of the city of Nantes. Muscadet is an international success story with humble origins as a favorite local wine that pairs well with seafood. Wine maker notes The grapes are carefully selected at approximately 12% potential alcohol. Then, they are pressed smoothly in a pneumatic press to protect the juice from oxidation. Fermentation takes place in stainless tanks. The wine is aged on its fine lees (sur lie) during the winter from October to March, prior to bottling. Technical notes 100% Melon de Bourgogne (Muscadet). Food pairing Ideal accompaniment to all shellfish - shrimp, lobster, oysters, clams, etc. as well as roasted white meats. Producer Remy Pannier is the Loire Valley's single largest wine producer accounting for about 15% of all Loire Valley wine production and with markets in over 40 countries worldwide. Since the early 1990s it has been directly owned by an alliance of over 800 grape growers and vineyard owners primarily located in Muscadet Vouvray and Sancerre.
