| Description: | Winemaker Notes\r\nCabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot provide the backbone for this lovely blend. Malbec brings color, red fruit characters and a hint of floral. Merlot adds a lively spice and herbal character with Cabernet Franc offering finesse and a peppery perfume. Aromas of lush, summer blackberries, brambly cassis, complemented by white pepper, clove, and baking spices are framed by sweet vanilla oak. Juicy, ripe, black cherry and blackberry flavors excite the palate, and the wine finishes long, wrapped in cedar, cinnamon, and clove.\r\nAbout Trefethen\r\nCelebrating three generations of environmental leadership in the wine industry, our passion extends beyond the wines themselves to the place we live and work. In July of 2009, we became just the 15th winery in the Napa Valley to be certified a Napa Green Winery, and in 2012 we were awarded the International Award of Excellence in Sustainable Winegrowing by the Botanical Research Institute of Texas (BRIT\u00ae).\r\nOur family is strongly committed to being good stewards of the land, responsible neighbors, and enlightened employers. |
