The next expression No.2 Pinot Noir Extra Brut proved immensely popular too. The third iteration of this adventure sees the house return to a pure Pinot Meunier once again Les Rendez-vous de Billecart-Salmon No.3 Meunier Extra Brut Champagne comes from three historic terroirs: Leuvrigny, Damery and Venteuil. These sites were chosen because the Pinot Meunier grown in each has a very distinct character. This grape variety is rarely given the limelight, but here it has been aged on the lees for an immense 64 months and shows just how glorious it can be. The dosage is relatively low, allowing the purity of the Pinot Meunier to shine. Expect notes of lime tree blossom, grass, wheat fields, straw, tangy lemon curd, granola, honeysuckle, tarte aux poires, white cherry, yellow plum, pineapple, a seasoning of white pepper and sea salt, and the smoke and wax combo of snuffed candles." |
