Expressive, noble and complete.\r\nFood Pairings - red meats either grilled or cooked in sauces, game birds, or aged cheeses.\r\nRobert Parker 95 Points\r\nWine Spectator 93 Points\r\nAbout Ch\u00e2teau de Nalys\r\nAlready mentioned in the municipal cadastre at the end of the 16th century, this property is one of the oldest in the appellation.\u00a0The Ch\u00e2teau de Nalys takes its name from the first operator, Jacques Nalis, farmer general of the Archdiocese of Avignon.\u00a0From 1633, he was entrusted with the operation of a barn surrounded by land and vines, the cradle of the current estate.\u00a0The Nalis family then vinifies their harvest on site and keeps the estate until the French Revolution.\u00a0Subsequently, the estate is sold to a family from Ch\u00e2teauneuf-du-Pape who will operate it for seven generations.\u00a0One of its last members and certainly the most famous was Doctor Philippe Dufays.\u00a0Doctor of medicine, he arrived in the region during World War Ii and married the heiress of Nalys.\u00a0Passionate, the \u201cDoctor\u201d so called by those around him,\u00a0devoted all his knowledge and his heritage to this property.\u00a0For nearly twenty years, Doctor Dufays will develop Nalys, double its surface area and extend its marketing in a number of foreign countries.\u00a0In 1975, following the accidental death of his son, Doctor Dufays decided to separate from Nalys, which was then sold to Groupama insurance.\r\nIn 2017, the Guigal Family acquired Ch\u00e2teau de Nalys, charmed by the exceptional character of its terroirs and its prestigious past.\r\n |
