Consistently warm, dry summer days led to the earliest harvest in Stollers history, beginning on September 13, 2013 with younger Pinot Noir sections. As processing progressed, temperatures cooled and rain showers settled in, setting up a true vintners vintage, where meticulous sorting and attentive winemaking were essential. Despite these challenges, the 2013 Stoller vintage ultimately delivered pure, nuanced wines of exceptional quality. 92 Points -Wine Spectator. Technical Notes. Bottled: August 2014. Cases produced: 7,475. Alcohol:12.9%. Cooperage: 30% New, 70% Neutral Region Description. The Dundee Hills Ava is Oregonšs first micro Ava as of one year ago and is over 80% \"Jory\" soil-type. This special volcanic soil has excellent minerality and drainage. Also, the Dundee Hills benefits from being drier and warmer than many pockets that surround it. All of these factors together combine to showcase unique characteristics found in the best Pinot noirs from this region. Our wines tend to be very focused with great clarity and complexity. Some of the descriptors are bright red fruits, exotic spices, and a gorgeous minerality in the structure. |
