| Description: | 95 pts Winemag June 2021 Matured for 16 months in French oak, 80% new. The aromatics are captivating with a top notes of flowers and fynbos before red and blackberries, dark chocolate, banana bread, and baking spice. The palate shows excellent depth but also poise – great fruit definition, fresh acidity, and fine tannins, the finish long and dry. Alcohol is 14.95% but this is extremely focused and not too lush. 4 ½ Stars 2022 Platter's South African Wine Guide Finer, more refined aromas than Kadette version, subtly spicy & scrubby. 19 (94 pts) dense more than heavy, fresher than 14.5% alcohol & 100% new wood suggest – beautifully balanced & lively, with characteristic sweet fruit but a fairly dry finish. 94 pts Tim Atkin Mw 2021 It's no mean feat to make 75,000 bottles of a Pinotage of this quality, which expresses all of the good things about the variety and none of its weaknesses. Rich, supple and violet scented, with glossy tannins, fine 80% new oak and succulent strawberry and blackberry fruit. 2023-30 92 pts Decanter May 2021 Very expressive, youthful nose of dense bramble, smoky tobacco and sweeter fruit pastille hints. A chocolatey, creamy texture coats the full-bodied palate which shows black and blue berries, a generous dusting of vanilla and cinnamon oak spicing and a tart red fruit freshness.
