Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur Puligny-Montrachet Les Levrons 750ml

Vintage: 2020
Winery: Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur
Description: Family-owned-and-operated, Domaine Bitouzet-Prieur has long roots in Burgundy, but aside from a new winery finished in 2020, very little about this Volnay estate has changed. Founded in 1804 by the great-great-grandfather of the current owner-winemaker, Vincent Bitouzet, this 29-acre estate is dedicated to crafting long-aging, classically styled Burgundies, and it has earned a sterling reputation for making outstanding, profound wines. Vincent works alongside his wife, Annie, and son, Francois; they use non-interventionist practices both in the vineyards and in the cellar, farming organically, foregoing pesticides and herbicides, and they rely on natural yeasts and employ very little new oak. Vincent's wines are complex, elegant, age-worthy, and exceedingly pure — the house style for both its red and white Burgundy would be entirely recognizable to his forebears, and this mindful adherence to traditional Burgundy is what makes connoisseurs and collectors seek out Bitouzet-Prieur wines.
