Daumas Gassac ‘Foliiiie by Gassac' Sparkling Wine
| Description: | Véronique and Aimé Guibert founded Daumas Gassac in 1970. When they purchased the estate they had no intention of planting vines and making their own wine, but the soil proved to be perfectly suited for exactly that, so they couldn't resist. They now produce phenomenal wines from a wide variety of grapes, depending on the microclimate and soil of each plot. Their most recent venture into sparkling wine is made with 100% Chardonnay. It is fermented in stainless steel tanks and then carbonated before bottling, making a wine that is fresh and fruity but drier than a Prosecco. It is then bottled at 2.5 bars of pressure, making it a "Pétillant" or semi-sparkling wine. Fresh tree-fruit notes meld with white flowers and a hint of grapefruit zest for a fun and refreshing bottle of sparkling wine. |
