| Description: | Just over a month ago, we featured Tyler Winery's 95-point Santa Barbara County Chardonnay, and that wine was a Huge hit. Now, coming in on those coat tails is their spectacular 93-points Pinot Noir! Justin, who likes to make wines in a true Burgundian-style hit a home run with this one. This Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir is comprised of high-quality fruit from various vineyard sites throughout the region. As mentioned in our last email covering the Chardonnay, winemaker Justin Willett utilizes native fermentations and open-top French oak fermenters. These are techniques often utilized for Pinot Noirs that cost twice the price. The wine rests in barrel for around 8-9 months before racking back into stainless steel tanks before being bottled. Plus the wine is unfined and unfiltered. He wants the wine to be true to the region ( terroir, if you will), and loves clean, bright, pure flavors that are unadulterated. The result is a fresh and bright style of Pinot Noir with notes of red fruit, well-structured with hints of savoriness. The 2021 Pinot Noir Santa Rita Hills starts off with aromas of forest floor, red fruits and a floral perfume. A mouthfeel of raspberry, cherry, bright cranberry and hints of herbs with a nice brightness throughout the finish. In a vintage that is being touted as one the best in the past decade, the Tyler Pinot Noir does not disappoint.especially at this price point!.
