Grant's Ale Cask Edition Blended Scotch Whisky
| Description: | Grant's master blender Brian Kinsman led the Grant's blending team in creating the expression, in association with a small Scottish brewing company. The team finished the variant for up to four months in barrels that were formerly filled with ale. Intrigued that whisky and ale have matching profiles, Grant's Master Blender asked a local Scottish brewery to season bourbon casks with their ales. The result: Grant's Ale Cask Finish. It's the first blended Scotch to be extra-matured in casks that once held ale, resulting in a smooth, rich and creamy taste. Tasting Notes: The nose is of medium-body and quite smooth, there are some herbal notes and a little sweetness, something vegetal lurks. The palate is of medium-body and well-balanced. The cask notes are subtle but present, there are some gentle vegetal notes with a hoppy note, there are fudge notes with barley.
