Sean Minor Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 750ml

Sean Minor Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast 750ml

Vintage: 2022
Description: Quality California Pinot Noirs typically don't come cheap ( quality being the key word), but every so often, lightning strikes…and that's what has happened here!. Sean Minor began his fine wine career working for Napa Valley's Beaulieu Vineyard, and he knew right from the start the wine industry was the right place for him. He began taking classes at U.c. Davis in Viticultural and Enology in hopes of developing a further understanding of grape growing and wine production. Shortly after that, Sean and his wife Nicole moved to the Pacific Northwest after being recruited by King Estate Winery (widely renown for producing Oregon's largest and most highly regarded Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris) to manage the Estate. It was here that Sean truly began to understand the necessities of producing quality, sustainably-farmed Pinot Noir. Sean and Nicole returned to California in 2001 for the opportunity to manage Renwood Winery and enhance Sean's experience growing and marketing some of the Golden State's best Zinfandel and Syrah. Four years later, they founded Sean Minor Wines when they noticed that there was a gap in the market. Sean and Nicole were yearning for wines that were easy to enjoy, highlighted the amazing fruit of California, and didn't break the bank-so they made them! They work with growers whose vineyards are strategically located near the cool, marine influences of the sun-filled California Coast who farm sustainably. Their consulting winemaker is Will Bucklin, who they met while at King Estate. Will is a graduate of Uc Davis' prestigious enology program and started his career with an internship at the historic and world-renowned Chateau Lafite Rothschild. Following stints with Thomas Hardy in Australia and Navarro Vineyards in Mendocino, he worked with Sean at King Estate in Oregon. Pinot Noir is a classic choice for any occasion and goes with almost everything. Alluring aromas of wild plums and cloves mingle with flavors of vivid red cherries, spices, earthy notes and vanilla. Wine Spectator 92 Points - "a nice streamlined, mineral-tinged version, with racy acidity running underneath blood orange and raspberry coulis flavors, while savory and hibiscus hints chime in on the finish, where the fruit lingers prettily. Drink now through 2028."
